Parangfest 2019 provided excitement and fun on Saturday, November 24 at Century Gardens in Brampton.Los Pajaros

The crowd danced to the traditional Parang music of perennial favourite Los Pajaros and grooved to the beats of the DJ Bad Lad.

ScrunterFor the first time in the Limer’s Association’s history, the organization proudly presented Trinidadian artist Scrunter at the event. Scrunter moved the crowd with his classics such as “I Want ah Piece of Pork”, “Anita”, “Eat Something Before You Go” and “Woman on the Base”.

The food at the event included the traditional favorites such as Peleau, Corn Soup, and Pone with the new offering of the Hops and Ham sandwich. The event also remained true to its Trini roots with the exclusive sale of the popular Carib, Stag, and Mackeson beers.
The event awarded $1000 scholarships to Natalie Chattargoon and Nyah Layne for their academic achievements and contributions to the Caribbean community. Both of the award recipients attended the event and told the audience how their scholarships will help them meet their financial and academic goals. scholarship winners and committee member
The food, music, and moves of Parangfest in the West provided a taste of a Trini Christmas and honoured the achievements of the winners for the 2019/2020 school year.
