Parangfest 2024 opened on a cold night without missing a beat by providing excitement and fun on Saturday, November 9 at Century Gardens in Brampton.
The crowd danced to the traditional Parang music of perennial favourites Los Pajaros and grooved to the beats of the DJ Bad Lad.
The food at the event included the traditional favorites such as Peleau, Corn Soup, Pone and Saltfish with Fried Bake. The event also remained true to its Trini roots with the exclusive sale of the popular Carib beer.
The event awarded the $1000 scholarships to Mikayla Daniel for her academic achievements and contributions to the Caribbean community. The award recipient attended the event and told the audience how this scholarships will help them meet their financial and academic goals.
The food, music, and moves of Parangfest in the West provided a taste of a Trini Christmas and honoured the achievements of the winner for the 2024/2025 school year
